NAPA Auto Parts and Dead River Company partnership
raises $16,645 for Camp Sunshine.

Westbrook, Maine 74 NAPA Auto Parts stores throughout Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, along with participating NAPA AutoCare Centers and Dead River Company convenience stores and fuel offices, are proud to announce their joint sponsorship in a fund raising campaign that raised $16,645 for Camp Sunshine, a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

These sponsors solicited donations of $1, which were recorded on a ‘Sunny Car’ and posted in their locations in July and August. The funds that were raised will support these children and families in need, which will be used to sponsor families at camp. 100% of every dollar raised went to Camp Sunshine.

The ‘Sunny Car’ also included an entry tab for people who donate to Camp Sunshine to register for a chance to "Win a Race Day Experience" and attend the New Hampshire NASCAR race on September 25, 2011. On Friday, September 9, 2011, Wesley Young, a child from Camp Sunshine, drew the winner for the Grand Prize which was Bill Landry from Greeley’s Garage in Auburn. The winning ‘Sunny Car’ was sold at NAPA Auto Parts in Auburn by Glenn Shelley who won the Runner Up Grand Prize and will also be attending the New Hampshire NASCAR race.

Camp Sunshine provides respite and support to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. The year-round program is free of charge, and includes 24-hour onsite medical and psychosocial support for children diagnosed with diseases such as cancer, kidney disease, lupus, solid organ transplants and more as well as their immediate family members.
