Camp Sunshine Fundraiser
NAPA Auto Parts and Dead River Company partner with the goal to raise $25,000 in support of Camp Sunshine
Westbrook, Maine — 74 NAPA Auto Parts stores throughout Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, along with participating NAPA AutoCare Centers and Dead River Company convenience stores and fuel offices, are proud to announce their joint sponsorship in a fund raising campaign for Camp Sunshine, a retreat for children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.
These sponsors will be soliciting donations of $1, which will be recorded on a "Sunny Car" and posted in their locations this July and August. The goal is to raise $25,000 to support these children and families in need, which will be used to sponsor families at camp. 100% of every dollar raised will go to Camp Sunshine.
The "Sunny Car" also includes an entry tab for people who donate to Camp Sunshine to register for a chance to "Win a Race Day Experience" and attend the New Hampshire NASCAR race on September 25, 2011. All entries must be received by September 2, 2011 and the drawing will be held on Friday, September 9, 2011.
Camp Sunshine provides respite and support to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families. The year-round program is free of charge, and includes 24-hour onsite medical and psychosocial support for children diagnosed with diseases such as cancer, kidney disease, lupus, solid organ transplants and more as well as their immediate family members. Camp Sunshine has provided a haven for over 30,000 individuals since its inception. They are a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. 2
A quote from our fellow sponsor, Dead River Company:
"Throughout our 102 year history, Dead River Company has always kept our customers, neighbors and communities top of mind," said Robert Moore, President, Dead River Company. "So, when Camp Sunshine approached us to participate in their ‘Race Day Experience’ fundraiser with NAPA, we were very pleased to do so. Across our footprint of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, there will be over 60 retail fuel offices and Dead River convenience stores that will have the race car cut-outs (‘Sunny Cars’) available. We welcome the community to stop by to make a donation in support of this very special organization." Mr. Moore continued, "As a family-owned company, giving back to and supporting the communities we serve is an integral part of our business and we’re proud to be supporting Camp Sunshine."
A quote from Matthew M. Hoidal, Esq., Executive Director, Camp Sunshine:
"Over the past five years, Camp Sunshine has enjoyed a special relationship with NAPA," said Matthew M. Hoidal, Esq., Executive Director of Camp Sunshine. "Their corporate owned stores have raised tens of thousands of dollars to sponsor ill children and their families at Camp Sunshine, and this year we are thrilled to have their independently owned stores joining the company, along with their outside salespeople." Hoidal continued, "We are also very grateful to have Dead River Company joining NAPA and Camp Sunshine in this year’s fundraising campaign. To have the support and commitment from both of these fine companies is truly an honor, and is reflective of their commitments to making a positive difference in their communities."
